XX-Saber Hyunlei
Each “X-Saber” monster serves a special role in the overall X-Saber strategy. XX-Saber Hyunlei’s job is to eliminate any Spell and Trap Card that could get in your way. Many cards in the X-Saber Deck, like Saber Slash,
only work on face-up cards. Hyunlei is different. This Level 6 Synchro
Monster can destroy up to 3 Spell and Trap Cards when she’s Synchro
Summoned, regardless of whether they’re face-up or face down! With the
protection of Solemn Judgment, Dark Bribe, or My Body as a Shield backing this monster up, you can find yourself wiping away an entire field of Spell and Traps with one huge play!
In order to Synchro Summon XX-Saber Hyunlei, you need a Tuner, plus one or more non-Tuner X-Sabers. Right now, one of the most effective ways of Summoning Hyunlei is with XX-Saber Emmersblade along with XX-Saber Fulhelmknight or X-Saber Airbellum. This isn’t the only way to summon it, of course! If you like to run lots of different Tuners in your Deck, you could even use Plaguespreader Zombie or Krebons alongside a Level 4 X-Saber like XX-Saber Garsem or the upcoming XX-Saber Boggart Knightto bring out your Hyunlei.
With Hyunlei in your Extra Deck your X-Saber Deck will be able to
attack your opponent on every front. You can destroy their Spell and
Trap Cards, destroy their monsters, and discard cards from their hand.
Destroying your opponent’s Spell and Trap Cards leaves them defensless
against any attacks you have planned, and even if they Chain a Trap like
Bottomless Trap Hole to destroy your Hyunlei, you can Chain right back with a very timely Gottoms’ Emergency Call
to Special Summon back the X-Saber monsters you just used for a Synchro
Summon! You can even follow that up by Special Summoning XX-Saber Faultroll from your hand and continuing on with even more Special Summoning! With XX-Saber Hyunlei, you can smash your opponent’s strategy to pieces and win the Duel no matter how intimidating your opponent’s field looks.
Hyunlei will obliterate these cards.
After XX-Saber Hyunlei is done destroying your opponent’s Spell and Trap Cards she can be Tuned to X-Saber Airbellum or XX-Saber Fulhelmknight to Synchro Summon XX-Saber Gottoms. If you don’t have another Tuner hanging around, you can still cause a lot of damage with Hyunlei. Between Saber Hole, XX-Saber Hyunlei, and XX-Saber Emmersblade,
a whole new world of strategies have opened up to X-Saber Duelists.. By
simply leaving your Hyunlei in attack mode on the field with a set Saber Hole backing it up, you’ll be able knock down your opponent’s Life Points while being able to rest easy in the knowledge that Saber Hole is lying in wait to destroy any monster your opponent might Summon. Using other cards such as My Body as a Shield, Dark Bribe, and Solemn Judgment can give you an even bigger edge on the competition!
With Hyuneli backing them up, X-Saber Decks are sure to become an even bigger force in the future!
